Willie Nelson shared an update in a new statement after canceling a show “due to unforeseeable circumstances.”
The legendary country star said earlier this week that he would no longer be able to perform the Outlaw Music Festival’s milestone 10th anniversary concert that was scheduled for Tuesday (July 1) in Lucky Star Amphitheater in El Reno, Oklahoma. He explained at the time that “an extreme weather event” left instruments and equipment “damaged and waterlogged, making their condition difficult to assess in time to accurately and safely use” for the show. The severe weather took place on Sunday (June 29) in Ridgedale, Missouri.
“The Outlaw Music Festival show from Sunday, June 29th at Thunder Ridge Nature Arena in Ridgedale, MO, that was halted and postponed due to a dangerous storm, is unable to be rescheduled,” Nelson said in a statement on Wednesday (July 2), advising ticket holders on the next steps to receive a refund. “We are truly sorry for this inconvenience and hope to return next year.”
The lineup of the show included Willie Nelson & Family, Bob Dylan, The Mavericks and Tami Neilson. Nelson said earlier this week the tour will resume on Friday (July 4) in Austin, Texas.
