Kelly Clarkson performed a stunning rendition of “Don’t You Wanna Stay” on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Monday (December 2). Guitarist Jaco Caraco joined Clarkson for her solo version of the heartache duet that she released more than a decade ago with country star Jason Aldean.

Aldean and Clarkson released the collaboration in 2010, on Aldean’s 15-track studio album, My Kinda Party. that project also included “Tattoos on This Town,” “Dirt Road Anthem,” “Fly over States,” “My Kinda Party” and more. Clarkson also included the ballad on the deluxe edition of her 2011 studio record, Stronger. “Don’t You Wanna Stay” won Academy of Country Music Awards in the Single of the Year and Music Event of the Year categories, plus the Country Music Association Award for Musical Event of the Year.

“I recorded that song with Jason Aldean for his album My Kinda Party. you can also find it on the deluxe version of Stronger,” Clarkson said after the performance. “I love that song so much. I did actually sing it for an entire tour by myself, which made it even sadder, which I liked more because I like really sad music. I don’t know why.”
