Armed Bicyclist Fatally Shoots Driver In Road Rage Incident

A 34-year-old Detroit man was shot and killed during a road rage incident involving two people riding their bikes. Police said the man was driving a 2006 Land Rover around 11 p.m. on Tuesday (June 30) night when he became upset with the two cyclists.

The man shouted at pair, prompting one of the bikers to respond. The man stopped his vehicle and got out to confront the couple with a knife in his hand. As the man approached the pair, a 28-year-old woman pulled out a gun and fired one shot, killing him.

The woman legally owned the firearm and had a concealed carry permit. She was taken into custody and is being held until prosecutors decide if the shooting was a case of self-defense.

Officials are continuing to investigate the case and are reviewing surveillance camera footage from the area, hoping it will shed more light on the incident.
