A 25-year-old woman committed suicide by stepping into traffic on Sunday on I-25 in Fort Collins according to the Coloradoan.

A Colorado State Patrol Trooper found the woman, while he was inspecting a southbound-parked car along the highway between Prospect and Harmony roads according to the Reporter Herald.

The Fort Collins police said they received a call from the woman’s friend around 10 p.m. notifying them about the woman’s suicide intentions.  The woman’s body was found before the Fort Collins police could respond.

The Fort Collins police said the vehicle that hit the woman did not stop and the driver may not have recognized that they hit a woman.
