Cheyenne Frontier Days announced today they will be adding the CINCH Rodeo Shootout on Friday, July 18 - the opening day of the Daddy of them All.

The CINCH Roade Shootout is an inviational event that is known as Rodeo's Tournament of Champions. Champions in five events from the eight most prestigious North American rodeos are invited, guaranteeing intense competition in a single, action-packed afternoon.

Over $70,000 will be on the line to be won in a single afternoon in a tournament style performance with two rounds of rodeo competition. The first round starts with 8 champions from five rodeo events competing to make it to the championship round. After the first elimination, four competitors in each event will compete to win the CINCH Rode Shootout jackpot, with prizes of $10,000 being award in each event.

An Interactive Experience

Fans that attend the CINCH Rodeo Shootout will have a chance to vote with a text message to choose which livestock, or in what order their favorite cowboys will ride in the Championship Round. This is the ONLY rodeo where attending fans help decide the outcome of the Championship Round.

A rodeo team component is also added to this competition. The winning rodeo team will win a cash award, along with bragging rights. The crowd is even invited to join in a special toast to the winning team when the team award is presented.

"This is a really exciting style of competition, and something completely new for most of us," said Frontier Days General Chairman Darin Westby, adding that this style of rode is similar to the "winner takes all" format that defined Cheyenne Frontier Days in 1897. "What's old is new in many ways," said Westby. "This format is intense, fast."
